One of the best things about being at Cusgarne is that theres always something new and special coming to the table. Given that we started with potatoes and cauli nearly 30 years ago, everything has been an experiment at some point (mostly good!). It was always fun when Dad or Mum arrived to the kitchen with some new vegetable, fruit, meat or preserve to try and then share with everybody who shops at Cusgarne. Which is why we are thrilled to be able to share our latest addition. Our own hand cured Angus organic Bresaola, smoked bresaola and pastrami in partnership with Tregida Smokehouse. Cusgarne Rabbit Tagine

Ideally, a meal needs to be five things to rate as exceptional for us at Cusgarne. Healthy, affordable, kind to the environment, really, really tasty and be just a little unusual. ...Which is why we love rabbit tagine and thus thought it would be fitting for our first recipe post. It took skill to hunt the rabbit and grow the crops, its delicious, swap the oranges for plums or other seasonal fruit and it can be entirely local and low impact. Tagine is the ultimate dinner for all year round. Fragrant and warming, its great with a buckwheat tabouleh salad or fragrant cous cous and cooked veg in the winter. Tagine is based on a number of principles, so as long as you get the key spices in there

Kale Inspiration

With vitamins C, K and A, iron, folate, omega-3s, calcium, magnesium and 2 grams of protein per cup. Kale is a pretty efficient way of eating healthily. Happily, its also pretty damn tasty too. Here's our 5 favorite ways to get some kale in our diet... 1. Simply chop, steam and dress with butter, lemon, black pepper and salt and serve with any traditional eurpean style dish. 2. Do the above but dress with sesame oil, honey, chilli and a little soy sauce for a beautiful asian style side dish. 3. Chop and add to any stir frys, currys, soups or stews. 4. Juice it! (with fresh beetroot, carrot, ginger, turmeric, lemon and a couple of glugs of Cusgarne pure apple juice) 5... or our personal autum
