FIELDS TO FORESTS PROJECT

BIODIVERSITY

As we have seen in the Australian fires, forests provide homes, food and shelter for millions of animal. Biodiversity is the variety of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat. Our current agricultural system of monoculture combined with the shift toward large fields with bare hedges has decimated habitats. These large bare hedges and large fields are a wonderful way to ensure efficiency in cultivation and maximum availability of sunlight for growing, and in our tight margin times of super cheap food we cant exactly blame the farmer for doing this, however this must change.

By introducing mixed woodlands of nut and fruit bearing trees, we can provide invaluable shelter and food.

Biodiversity is the foundation of our ecosystem to which human well-being is intimately linked. No feature of Earth is more complex, dynamic, and varied than the layer of living organisms that occupy its surfaces and its seas, and no feature is experiencing more dramatic change at the hands of humans than this extraordinary, singularly unique feature of Earth.

Plant to protect it.
